With over 400 engines supplied worldwide per year, and twenty two years of trading, RPi's engine programs are second to none. Our acclaimed rebuilt engine variants are individually detailed and hand built by 'Holly', our resident V8 Chef! Each-one seasoned to your exacting tastes.
To be honest, we do prefer to supply factory warranted 'brand new', both std. and enhanced performance, 4 litre & 4.6 litre engines. However, we can, when required, continue to offer earlier capacity rebuilt V8 engine variants. The following information should help to guide you well whatever your needs.

Stage 1 and stage 3 engine enhancements & upgrades |
Stage 1 upgrade, 'Maximizing torque & efficiency' Add £POA to include Torquemax or RP4 Cam, and Stage 1 heads Offering enhanced engine efficiency & economy. Outstanding torque gains, where you need them. This is what RPi Stage 1 is all about. You can easily expect 10-15% (across the board) gains showing up with enhanced bhp, but it's not the bhp that you will notice most when you install this motor!! Stage 3 upgrade. As stage 1 drive-ability, torque & efficiency still paramount but more porting, more bhp, more Torque and still no losses. Add £POA to include RP285 Cam (or other appropriate Cam), Duplex, Vernier timing gear (only for Pre 1995 engines) and HI flow big valve Stage 3 heads. You are assured of clean emissions, and you get all that stage 1 offers but even more torque, more bhp and the ability to take the effective rpm range far higher for those 'Boy Racer' moments. |

All long engines are based around Rover's latest cross-bolted 4.0 & 4.6 casting, factory fresh and employing the latest, stronger, block casting, bigger journal crankshaft, fully enclosed main bearing caps, stronger rods and rod stud fixings, and are fully compatible for replacing 3.5, 3.9 & 4.2 V8s, as well as the newer Range Rover, Morgan, TVR and kit car engines of the same capacity. |

As with the pistons, all connecting rods are weight determined, corrected, checked, balanced and 'as shown', representing the only true way to build quality-assured engines with 100% reliability. |
Pistons are balanced to within one Gram and are fitted as matching sets to balanced rods, the resultant data is then used to enable spot on dynamic balancing. |

All connecting-rods are individually 'end over end' balanced, and with the resultant calculations used to determine precise crankshaft counter balance factors for the final stage 'dynamic balancing' | The final 'cutting edge' stage prior to assembly. Once the pistons and connecting rods are balanced, the crank is dynamically balanced with the appropriate counter balance weights applied. |
